Updated: 28 Jul 2017

Ingredients

  • 1 onion
  • 250g carrots, finely chopped
  • 500g lean beef mince
  • 100ml red wine
  • 1x 400g tin chopped tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp tomato puree
  • 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
  • 50ml milk

  • 200g GF spaghetti

Method

  1. In a large saucepan, heat some olive oil and add the onions and carrots. Fry on a medium het for 5 minutes until starting to soften.
  2. Add the mince and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until it starts to brown and breaks up.
  3. Turn up the heat and add the red wine. Cook to reduce for 2-3 minutes then add the tomatoes, tomoato puree, worcestershire suace, and milk.
  4. Simmer for 20-30 minutes. The longer you cook it, the better it will get. Put a pan of water on the hob to boil for the spaghetti and cook according to pack instructions near the end of the cooking time for the sauce.
  5. Taste and season the sauce with salt and pepper. Drain the pasta and add half the sauce; toss together and serve.
  6. Keep the second half of the pasta sauce either for another dinner or to make lasagne etc.
